Dr Rahul Chaturvedi, who spent nearly 18 years with PepsiCo (Frito-Lay) and leads breeding at Tuberosum Technologies Inc., joins the Potato Expert Panel by Potatoes.News.
Dr Rahul Chaturvedi, Director, International Research and Market Development at Tuberosum Technologies Inc., has joined the Potatoes.News tərəfindən Kartof Ekspert Paneli. Based in India, he has over two decades of experience in the potato industry, including nearly 18 years with PepsiCo (Frito-Lay).
From Frito-Lay India to three regions
Chaturvedi began his career in the potato industry in 2005, after returning from the USA and joining Frito-Lay India. He went on to hold leadership roles across South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, introducing and commercialising several potato chipping varieties.
He helped establish contract farming systems and aeroponics-based minituber production facilities, and advanced agronomic practices through technology transfer. According to his profile, these initiatives reached more than 25,000 potato growers across the region.

Breeding with True Potato Seed
For the past three years Chaturvedi has been associated with Tuberosum Technologies Inc., Canada, where he leads the True Potato Seed (TPS) and conventional clonal breeding programmes. The work focuses on breeding solutions that enhance potato productivity, sustainability and resilience. He leads the company’s research and development agenda across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and supports its Canadian operations remotely, with visits to Canada three to four times a year.
He received the Global Industry Award at the World Potato Congress 2026 in Kenya.
